Visitors' Book

During the World Championships, the On-Water Team's bunker at the bottom of the boathouse was the place where athletes could come and collect (free!) bottles of water. This meant that sooner or later we'd be visited by virtually every athlete competing at the event. It's not really the "done thing" to chase athletes for autographs during the event as this can upset their race preparation, but having a Visitor's Book and a supply of pens by the water bottles meant that they could sign it if they wanted to.

We collected signatures from 36 different competing federations as well as a large number of FISA and ARA officials and plenty of volunteers. Famous names include our very own rowing knights, Sirs Steve and Matthew. The book will be auctioned in aid of the Rowing Foundation. Thanks to everyone who took the time to leave their mark in helping to create this unique record of a fantastic World Championships. Click here to see scans from the book.
